Over at Neatorama Miss Cellana remembers flying into Kai Tak Airport in HK. The first of many flights I took there over the years originated in Beijing and in the pre-web world I was unprepared for landing. Not only was it a tight runaway jutting out into Hong Kong Harbour but as these photos show it was wedged tightly among some of Hong Kong's densest neighbourhoods. 
Calamity: This aircraft missed the mark on its low-descent by crashing into a TV aerial Spectacular: The small airport became dangerously overcrowded in the 90s. Its beautiful surroundings belie the danger involved in landing a plane here
