A Cool Friday
Yesterday after Friday morning yoga Mr.T and I (who again had another Friday off work) walked along Dundas Street looking for something to eat for lunch. We spotted a sushi bento place on Dundas and decided to try it out. The place is located on the south side of the street and featured a few tables lined up against the walls and the sushi bar in the back of the restaurant. I opted for a tempura udon while Mr.T had a bento box and both were a disappointment.
After lunch we made our way home settling in for the afternoon because it was the coldest day after a few warm days. Later in the afternoon we made our way north to Bloor Street to pick up a food mill that Mr.T had spotted at Williams Sonoma. For the past couple of years we have used an older mill that Mr.T inherited from his mother. The new mill by Oxo is a little larger and looks better built, but the prove will be when we use it later this summer to make tomato passata.
For dinner we decided to duck into Fresh and although the food is always great we were seated in those seats along the wall which are too close together for our comfort. I have never liked restaurant seating that places you elbow to elbow with strangers and this time we forgot to request a booth. Making our way home we decided to watch Tomboy on Netflix. The film looks at a young girl who moving into a new neighbourhood tries to pass as a boy during summer vacation. It is a beautiful story about how each of us navigates gender identity.
