A New Year's Dinner

Yesterday I spent a quiet day at home while Mr.T went out to visit with Ms.L. Later Mr.Z texted to see if we were interested in dinner. They were on their way back from London and were craving Chinese food so after they drove over we all walked down to Chinatown to see what was open. Not surprisingly everyone else in Toronto had the same idea and the place was busy. We walked to Taste of China Seafood on Spadina just north of Dundas and were lucky to score a table. The place is Mr.T and I's favourite go-to Chinese restaurant because the food is so good and popular with late night chefs who love their fish and seafood dishes. The place was really busy and the service which is never great was as slow as ever, but the food is good. I ordered my favourite salt and pepper shrimp, Mr.T a beef ginger dish, while Mr.Z had some fried wontons and General Tso's shrimp and broccoli. Mr.D ordered a couple of appetizers and a main dish and we were all surprised the size of the appetizer dishes, they were like main meals. It was nice to catch up with friends and to hear all about their trip to England and Scotland for a friend's wedding and to enjoy a New Year's dinner.
