A Bright Saturday

Today started off grey, but warm so Mr.T and I made our way to Kensington Market to pick up our dry goods and veggies for the week. Our favourite veggie store had their first shipment of herbs and veggies, so we picked up a whole bunch for planting back at home. While it is still a little early, the weather has been really nice so we planted some tomatoes, some eggplant and some leeks in our raised northern bed. And lots of greens, some lemon thyme, onions, spinach and lavender.

After a quick bite at home we then walked along Harbord Street to Grace Street then north to Fiesta Farms on Christie Street. They also had lots of plants but nothing we needed so we then walked north to Dupont to the Loblaw's, where Mr.T found another big lavender plant for the south raised garden bed.

After planting everything we didn't want anything heavy for dinner, so I made some hummus. This was my first time using chickpeas that weren't canned and although it took a lot longer it was really delicious allowing me to control how much salt I added.
